The Arai Helmets Quantum-X Helmet in Oriental Black Frost offers a sophisticated design tailored for riders with slightly wider heads. Featuring an oval-shaped interior achieved through a combination of thicker front and rear pads with thinner side pads, this helmet ensures a comfortable fit without compromising safety. The exterior shell utilizes Arai’s Peripherally Belted - Super Complex Laminate Construction (PB-SCLC), which integrates multiple materials to deliver durability, lightweight comfort, and affordability.
The Quantum-X’s variable axis system (VAS) shield mechanism lowers the pivot point by an average of 24 mm, resulting in a smoother surface in the temple area that effectively reduces impact energy transfer during collisions. The improved shield latch securely holds the VAS-MV shield closed, preventing accidental openings and facilitating intuitive, seamless shield operation. The VAS-MV shield is compatible with the VAS-MV Pinlock® lens, which is included along with the Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ insert, ensuring clear, fog-free vision in various riding conditions.
Enhanced airflow management is achieved through QVF three-position intake ducts and QVR exhaust ducts, providing excellent ventilation during rides. The side vent functions as an exhaust even when the top shutter is closed, maintaining continuous airflow. The helmet’s water-repellent ES chin cover enhances aerodynamic flow, increases mouth area exhaust, and helps reduce wind noise, contributing to rider comfort. The FCS® cheek pads are contoured with multiple foam densities supported by a foam “spring,” offering a snug fit that blocks wind noise and allows easier on-off handling.
